Pugtato Finds a Thing
by Sophie Corrigan
Wow, what an adorable book! Pugtato Finds A Thing is a sweet story of a hybrid potato-pug creature that follows their potato-heart to make a new discovery, and a new friend. The rhymes make for a great read-a-loud, the illustrations are cute and hilarious, and all of Pugtato's animal-food hybrid friends make for really fun reading experience for kids as they identify the foods/animals throughout the story. The only drawback to the book is the gendering of the characters. I wish the author would have gone with gender-neutral language instead of assigning pronouns.
