The whole narration on the captain pirate and in general whenever the focus got away from the two main characters I didn't enjoyed the book as much.
My most favourite, and I would say the most (saddly) unique aspect of the book is the amazing range of races, gender identities, ages and archetypes women-related that this book puts at the forefront of the plot and I would have liked for those to be even more prevalent, as I thought it had so much potential.
I also felt like the main relationship was not sufficiently developed. I would have liked maybe 30% more of them to feel like their relationship is believable.
However, despite my personal suggestions, this book got me out of a dark sad place by transporting me to a lovely wholesome magical realm of pirates, princesses, witches and mermaids. 🧙🧜♀️🧝🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️✨. So I would definitely undoubtedly and strongly recommend this book if you are in the mood for the book your 6 year old (+politically educated) self would have loved.
