clairbear1989 's review for:
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
God damn this book. I was desperate for it to be an improvement on book 1, but it was worse. The plot had potential, but wasted so many pages on pointless, repetitive, poorly written conversation. Hawke was a cheesy red flag waving mess. Very little actually happened, for much of the story, then happened all at once. It was so much TELLING and not enough actual showing or doing.
I’m going to keep on reading book 3, because I hate leaving a series unfinished, but I was massively disappointed.
(Also, curse you bookstagram - with all your great reels and art work for this book. You made me fall in love with the potential of the story)
