God this sucks. This is supposed to be an adult fantasy novel? Why does this read like any other YA fantasy slop I've picked up within the last two years. I keep trying to give these romantasy books a chance and they remind me again and again why I'm not all that into them. The writing is okay, some parts are really engaging, but ultimately not much happens for me to stay engaged. It's a shame because this started out fairly strong and caught my attention but I cannotttttt keep going with this.
