The fact that this was only 80 pages!! How?? 😭💙

This was such a surprisingly sweet addition to the Risdaverse. 

Of course we have the wonderful marriage of convenience trope. But I was so impressed with the hurt/comfort aspects of these characters. 

Vordigar is an escaped prisoner of war, making a quick stop on Risda III before meeting up with the va Sithai brothers (my favorite space pirates) for a job. He is not the conventionally attractive male (he's been through it in the war and has the scars to prove it). 

Then he finds himself with an offer for marriage from Piper, an enigmatic human, who needs a husband, a baby, and some muscle to keep her farm safe (in that order). She seems tough and unbothered but she is also hiding her hurt and trauma from her past. 

The two of them together are the sweetest! Vordigar may look scary but he is the biggest softy and will do everything to prove to Piper she is worth everything to him 💙
