Preachy and unoriginal. Remarkably similar plot other books I’ve read recently (most notably The Storyteller’s Secret by Sejal Badani.)

I lost count of how many times Cleeton used a phrase like “An oath falls from his lips” or “a smile falls from his lips.” Blegh.
