I think this was a very graceful way of getting out Jill and Derick's experiences and struggles. I was expecting a messy and accusatory story but I was not disappointed with the soft way this book laid out their struggles and how they experienced growing up and marrying into the Duggars.

Thankfully I couldn't personally relate to Jill's struggles growing up in such a strict Christian household but she did a wonderful job sharing that experience in a way where you could see how it was completely normal to them and her anxiety while discovering a different way to live while trying to toe the line of being respectful to her family.
