Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
5.0

“I didn’t used to be, you know…’ She waved a hand. ‘A socially inept control freak.’ His lips curved. ‘That’s not exactly what I’d call you.’ Envision an apartment with everything your heart desires. A fluffy couch to curl in to, a filled bookcase, a PlayStation with your favorite games, a laptop within reach, a fridge full with homemade meals and cabinets stuffed with chocolate. It sounds wonderful, right? But downside, except for your closest family, you’re alone and are daily in pain.

The romance novel Get a Life Chloe Brown from Talia Hibbert describes just that. Chloe has flibromyalgia and decided after a near death experience that it’s time to get a life. To achieve this she makes a list. After moving out she gets help from biker boy and concierge Redford (Red) Morgan.

I’ve never expected that I could be seen by a romance novel. But this novel did just that. I felt seen as it describes perfectly the effect chronic illness has on your social life and with that your self esteem and happiness in life. It takes effort to feel happiness again. Just as it does for Chloe. This romance, despite of its depth, is anything but depressing. It’s hot, sexy, humorous, adorable and sweet with a tear here and there. I highly would recommend this for anyone struggling with chronic illness, for people who want to read about that or just want a good romance. Tip: the audiobook is very good too.
