I was rooting for Goody Proctor's happily ever after. And John Proctor was an insufferable character, he acted as though he was the voice of reason, and whilst he kind of was when it came to the baseless accusations, I like to think that everything that went down was a dramatic unfurling of events in reaction to him doing wrongs without any consequences, and then whinging about how things aren't exactly the same as before the wrong. So I'm happy he got his just dessert, and Goody got to move on.
The line 'Goody Proctor always kept poppets' from the audiobook narration is also permanently stuck in my mind.
