This was a great book! Growing up in Utah, specifically Utah county, we went to Clear Creek camp in the 5th grade! On the way down, we made a stop in Scofield where this disaster happened. The cemetery where they are buried is kind of haunting seeing about 200 graves with the same death date.
This book was wonderful! I love the girl Della! She is so strong despite the sad circumstances she grew up in (lost her mom during her birth, losing her dad in a mine, and having to live with an Aunt that reminds me of the Cinderella story) The townspeople are so fun and loving that I grew to love them all. Great read!
