History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
5.0

I cried. A lot. Jandy Nelson and John Green have got nothing on Adam Silvera. He is the King of making me cry. Not because the book was bad, but because it was so good! I cried at page 2 and I cried at page 292, and quite a bit in between. The story was heartbreaking (don't worry, Adam gives you a band-aid too) and the book should only be sold with a bar of chocolate and a box of tissues. Why should you read a book that makes people cry? Because the characters are brilliant, the language is that of our generation, and the messages are important. This is not a love-fixes-all kind of story (if it had been I would not have given it 5 stars), but more a bit of a friendship-helps kind of book (but therapy is needed as well). This is a book about grief, mental illness, friendship, relationships, and coming of age. Oh, and it's lgbt too. But all you really need to know is that this book is good and you should read it. Now all I have to do is wait until September for They Both Die At The End to come out...
