10/10 great story. Even though i’ve seen the movie a bajillion times the book still was wonderful. There are slight differences from the movie things that were obviously cut for time or were too difficult to visually execute but the conversations were almost word for word and the main vibe of the meta narrative remains the same. Instead of the grandfather reading to his sick grandson the book is an author abridging the Princess Bride story after he realizes it’s not the same fun adventure story he remembers reading as a kid. there are many funny asides although the intro chapter is a bit dull it sets up the whole meta narrative.
