Crying in H Mart was a beautiful book that I’d highly recommend putting on your nonfiction TBR list. And obviously you should read it while listening to Japanese Breakfast. This memoir by Michelle Zauner (the lead musician in the indie rock band Japanese Breakfast) is so full of love and honesty. Plus it’ll make you crave Korean food! It explores the complexities of family, especially mother-daughter relationships and what it’s like to lose a parent. It’s nuanced. It’s witty. It explores identity and culture in an extremely important way. This one’s a must read.
