Big Mountain
by Penny Wylder
Who know a trip to the mountains and a one night stand could change your life forever?
Jenna is a city girl who needs a break from all the hustle and bustle when she takes a photography job up in the mountains for a town festival.
Gil is a local mountain man. He hunts and grows his own food, builds his own furniture and just survives on what is naturally provided to him.
Jenna is photographing the festival when she notices some strange activity in the woods. Gil is also in the woods and the beautiful Jenna catches his eyes and he knows he needs to talk to this girl. They do talk and they do hook up, expecting to never see each other again after the weekend, but fate is funny and had other plans in mind for these two.
There was a murder during the festival and Jenna has to return back to the mountain town to help with the investigation, only this time she is also carrying a little something extra. She is pregnant and the father his Gil.
I enjoyed this story. I liked that we had a little drama with how the town people treated Gil and you know, a whole murder investigation. Gil's reaction and how he felt towards Jenna was sweet, especially after he found out that she was pregnant.
There were times that I felt the story kind of dragged on but I still enjoyed the story and watching the relationship between Gil and Jenna grow.
