Stitched #2: Love in the Time of Assumption
by Mariah Huehner
I officially like this series a lot! I normally steer clear of creepy/horror-influenced things, but everything, the characters, their interactions, and the art, is just so ridiculously cute that it calls for me. Of course, I gotta answer it. :D
In this volume, Crismon is no closer to uncovering who she really is but is receiving visions/flashbacks of a past life. Meanwhile, Simon and she are drawing closer (apparently, they're dating) and Quinton’s getting saltier. SN: I like elegant, uppity perpetual-maybe-it’s-Maybelline-flowing-hair Quinton.
Now, some of these relationships (Crismon/Simon; Wisteria/Parameter) happened at break-a-neck speed. I thought I had missed a volume at first. But hey, I guess we got to the good stuff faster.
Of course, some werewolf vs. vampire action happens. It wouldn't be paranormal fiction without two creatures fighting. But the way it was handled was surprisingly mature. It wasn't on some boo-hoo, I just don't like you junk.
Overall, this volume felt really rushed, but I'm on board for volume 3. We ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'm eager to see where that goes.
WHO IS SARAH!?! *screams at keyboard*
This book has all the fixings to make you “aww.”
