For what it is, it is good. Stinks of YA, you know? Which isn't bad! I did watch the the TV show before reading the book, so I was...surprised by some of the changes.
Did I like Alina? No. Did I like Mal or The Darkling? Definitely not. Did I like...anyone? Genya, kind of. Baghra, definitely.
The world-building is delightful, though! It was given to us in manageable chunks and grew throughout the story. I'll read the next in the series, and I do look forward to eventually meeting the Six of Crows!
