I'm not a historical fiction girly but this wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be...it just wasn't quite what I hoped. It wasn't as impressive or great like I was rooting for. I just didn't care about Caroline and I found the side bit with her cheating husband to be off putting. Nella and Eliza's POVs were more interesting and even then it felt like not much happened. The premise gave me aqua tofana vibes iykyk but I was slightly disappointed it wasn't that. Not bad but incredibly average.
