I really loved this Avatar comic. I love how they keep on weaving important lessons in these comics.
Ashes of the Academy is set at the Fire Nation's Academy for Girls which Azula, Mai and Ty Lee attended when they were younger. We follow Kiyi's first days at school. After the war there is a new curriculum but the headmistress does not like how the Fire Nation is portrayed. Zuko call in the help of Mai who starts as a teacher at the academy.
I loved seeing more of Kiyi but also the big role Mai has. Both are very interesting characters and I had a great time spending more time with them!
