Whole : 11 Universal Truths For An Inspired Life

I don't consciously choose self-help books to read because I don't usually enjoy them. The ones that I've read previously did little to help me so you can perhaps understand my scepticism. When I started reading Whole by @innerhighlivingofficial I didn't go in with any expectations but at the end of it, I was truly satisfied. This book is refreshing in every sense and this coming from a rare reader of self-help books is a big thing. Right from the gorgeous cover to the content inside the book, everything felt relatable. And to top it all off, it has science. Actual facts to back up her suggestions.
Whole comprises of 11 chapters - happiness, willpower, creativity, integrity, humility, alignment, self-care, awareness, acceptance, altruism, courage and forgiveness. Pamela adds bits of her personal life to help make us feel comfortable about what she would later go on to explain. I think this is what sets her book apart from other self-help books. Not only does she talk of human minds but also goes to say why we do things in a certain manner, feel in a particular way. Every concept is well researched and provides great depth. Another interesting thing was the summary at the end of each chapter, something that I found useful. In all honesty, Whole felt like a comfort read and the ease with which I connected with it is something that rarely happens (considering the genre). There might be things that you'd already know in this book but it is the manner in which she writes that takes the prize. But I can assure you that when you finish reading the book, you'll feel confident enough to bring about certain changes into your lives. I recommend this.
Rating : 4.3/5.
