A filler volume until the Death Metal event does…whatever it does to the DC Universe. Captain Cold gets an upgrade and takes over Central City and the Flash Family has to stop him while dealing with overcharged powers. Exploring what each of The Rogues would do if they had control of the city is an interesting concept, but it really isn’t explored at all. I’d love to see Mirror Master’s parties or what Heatwave is actually doing. Instead, The Rogues “teach” The Flash family how to deal with out of control powers (and by “teach” I mean do nothing and let the plot resolve itself). There’s also a weird subplot of Glider having a crush on Flash which feels *super* weird considering all the work Williamson has done to get Barry and Iris together. Can’t say I expected much from an event tie-in, but still disappointed after the previous volume promised a better voice and direction.
