Glass Sword

Had this not taken me 2 weeks to read it probably would have gotten 5 stars. But I was in such a bad slump and I hate to say it's effecting the rating.
But to the book, I really enjoyed this book. It had an almost X Men vibe to it with everyone trying to learn to control their abilities and then going up against Maven.
And I know a lot of people hate Mare but she reminds me so much of Katniss that I can't hate her. To me, she is strong and she knows what she has to do. She is a walking tragedy and she does her best not to let it get to her. Sure, she can be annoying and seem self righteous but I can't hold that against her because of the situation she is in.
Kilorn and Cal were a bit too broody for me but I'm glad this didn't turn into some weird love triangle. Thumbs up for no focus on her love for Kilorn and Cal. Both had their moments when they were really enjoyable as characters.
Overall, I thought it was a solid sequel and I cannot wait to see what the next book has in store for us!
