The writing of this book was remarkable. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the descriptions, and the way things were just pronounced throughout the story. It’s enticing and very mysterious. Celine is a badass character. She’s a firecracker and no one is to mess with her! That was definitely exciting to read being that this book is set in the 1800s. I also felt a lot of vampire throughout the story so i was happy for that because a lot of the reviews said their wasn’t much of it.

This is probably closer to a 4.5 stars but I have a feeling the next one will be a solid 5. I’m intrigued to continue and will be picking the The Damned right away. Renee Ahdieh is my new favorite author this year, for sure.
