MONTY AND PERCY 4EVS.

Ok, now that I've gotten THAT out of the way...

This was such a super fun read, y'all! It's a proper ROMP through Europe in the tradition of the Grand Tour (something rich English boys got to do after university and before coming home to settle down and get married). Monty's dad is an abusive shite who's determined to beat the queerness out of his first-born son. He's decided to send him to the Continent, along with his sister Felicity and best friend Percy, chaperoned of course.

Percy is part of a rather posh family himself, the only difference being that Percy's mother was black. He's been raised by an aunt and uncle, never knowing his mother. His navigation of day-to-day life is precarious and painful. At several points I just found myself wanting to mother him to death.

Monty is gorgeous, bisexual, a bit selfish, and thoroughly in love with Percy. Gay interracial romance in 18th century aristocratic England - what could possibly stand in their way?

The trio find themselves the victims of highwaymen, pirates, politics, and bigotry. Monty's voice is so amusing, at turns sweet and selfish, that you can't help but love him, even when he's drowning in his rich white boy privilege.

There's just SO much to enjoy about this book. You will not regret picking it up!
