All I can say is that if you're reading this, especially if you are trans, please read Normal Life by Dean Spade as well. Sarah McBride encompasses so much about white [trans] women (and cis women, and generally white people) that needs to be examined. Read Captive Genders as well, while you're at at. Sarah's transness does not exempt her from all of her other privileges, and while she makes incredibly cursory, frankly insulting, nods to these privileges that is simply not enough. I say all of this as a white trans person myself. We have to be more self aware, ya'll. Go read Normal Life, go read Captive Genders, because we have to be better than this.
