bahareads 's review for:
the princess saves herself in this one
by Amanda Lovelace
Note: received and review as a netgalley advanced reader's copy.
4.5 stars
once upon
a time,
the princess
rose from the ashes
her dragon lovers
made of her
&
crowned
herself
the
mother-fucking
queen of
herself.
- how’s that for a happily ever after?
This poetry is so gut-wrenching and emotional. I chuckled and cried. I was inspired and moved. I felt Amanda's pain and power through the words. I adored the majority of the poems in here and I loved how they were interconnected. I read this all in one sitting.. This is what poetry is all about.
However the poetry style isn't for everyone.
