Hot on the heels of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, I read this feeling the mystery that was introduced in the first wasn’t really solved, and lo, this middle installation only served to prove that things are far more complicated than they seem in Pip’s small town. The place can’t seem to house enough bad-blood for one population.

The story moves quickly and the crime(s, plural, cos there is more than one criminal slinking around committing atrocities) happens almost while you’re blinking. And the missing boy is the least of Pip’s worries. And it all ends on a most unexpected note of terror, leaving you just as shocked and wondering and confused as Pip and Ravi.
