I'm so happy to be doing a re-read of this series in time for the new Threads of Power book. enjoyed this more the second time around.

A Gathering of Shadows fell into what a lot of middle books in trilogies fall into. I feel like not a lot happened, plot wise, and felt like it was filler story to get you to the next one.

I loved the first one and gave it five stars, but this fell flat. I still love Schwab's writing and she is becoming a favorite of mine. Lila is still my favorite character and I think she is a great example of an independent woman who can find her own way.

Hope the series finishes off strong and the last book is as good if not better than the first one.
