The book’s premise and popularity among the YA crowd caught my attention. It is a murder mystery that doesn’t really operate as one - I was hoping for twists, turns, and big reveals, but never really got them. Ultimately the answers to the mystery were not very satisfying - I went “oh” instead of “ohhhhhh.” But the characters are complex and I did want to see how it all turned out. I just won’t recommend this one very earnestly to someone looking for an intricate murder mystery - better as a teen drama.
