Nina LaCour holds my sad gay heart in her hands and whispers sweet nothings to it with her stupidly beautiful books. Yerba Buena is the story of two women, Sara and Emilie, battling their demons and patterns and heartbreaks –– and it's about their love. After spending only a few days with them, I feel like I know them both viscerally. I loved this book in its simplicity, its roots, and its respect for growth of all kinds. I can't wait for Yerba Buena to be released so I can force it into the hands of everyone I love.
