It Ends with Us
by Colleen Hoover
Wow. This is a heavy book y'all. I did not know what to expect. Some friends suggested I check out Colleen Hoover, and I somehow started with this one. From the beginning I thought I was getting into a flowery romantic novel with a charmingly likable protagonist and alluring, sexy love interest. What I did not expect was for themes of homelessness and domestic violence to be so prevalent. This love story certainly needs to come with a trigger warning, but it's an excelling window into empathy for victims and abusers and the complexity of those relationships. When all is said, I have to agree, everything is better in Boston!
