We get some great background information in this one, showing how Alana and Marko met. It not only helps in building the characters, but it also helps with building the world as well. Meeting Marko's parents also helps us to gain a little bit more background into his character.
I feel like Vaughan knows how to pace out comics really well, and Staples just creates beautiful art. The two of them together is just magic!
----
The characters! They are part of what make this series so captivating. Personally, I love that Alana and Marko fall in love over a book. The power is stories even relates these two races that are supposed to hate each other. And the art is magnificent. Everything about this series is just amazing.
