The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory was everything I hoped it would be and more! I've heard a few reactions from people who liked this novel but preferred its predecessor, The Wedding Date, but for me this book met the high expectations I had for Guillory's follow-up. And! I didn't read the blurb, as usual, so I hadn't realized that the male lead of this novel is Carlos, Drew's best friend from The Wedding Date. I already loved him from that novel, more than Drew tbh, so I was very excited when I realized he would be featured here. Nik also was a fantastic character, I'm loving reading Guillory's takes on confident capable women who struggle in the world in such honest ways. She was real, flawed, reflected parts of myself back to me, and was inspiring to boot. Nik's friendship with Courtney and Dana was so delightful, I loved reading their interactions. I also love that Guillory is building out this interconnected world, I already have hopes about future novel focuses.
