It's a very solid Sci-fi murder mystery short story. Feels like a Noir, but in space. It's a nice change of genre for me, so to speak. It's got some solid world-building and story without feeling rushed for how short it is. The cliffhanger at the end has me hooked for reading/listening to the next book(s) in the series. While the characters could use a little bit more development, they were very lovable and enjoyable to perceive. The grizzled, world-weary Detective Cade definitely feels very, very relatable.
