Long Time Gone by Charlie Donlea

Loved this! I am always fascinated by forensic pathology (a career that I think would be amazing) so I knew I would love this book, but the collision course of mysteries and family secrets in this book had me racing through this amazing book. Sloan is such a great character, equal parts curious and smart, but also willing to give people the benefit of the doubt and nurture family relationships despite the past. The book was perfectly paced, between POVs and past and present that had me flying through the pages and shocked at the culmination, writing in the most heart-pounding way of past and present. I know this isn't a series, but I would love to follow Sloan more and see more forensic pathology at work.
