lyrasbookshelf 's review for:
Everything's Fine
by Cecilia Rabess
challenging
reflective
sad
I worry for the reading comprehension of those who read this and were left with the impression that the author excuses racism, and the intelligence of the review-bombers who bought into the Twitter outrage and left one-star reviews without reading the book. Even just the first chapter would have been enough to see that what was claimed isn't true.
I liked this book a lot. It hits hard, it's infuriating, it's depressing, but it's also an incredibly realistic story of how we're willing to sacrifice major parts of ourselves for the people we love.
