Pepper Page: Saves the Universe is a bit like a love letter to comic book fans. Here, Pepper reacts how a normal person would suddenly thrust inside their beloved comic book with powers and all.
The art style is the real merit here! I though the artwork was very stylized, impactful, and colorful. On the other hand, the story, the characters, and the big bad felt weak to me. every villain doesn’t have to have a backstory. Killian believes helping others is just a waste of time. Reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho where one the villains grew up with loving parents and a great childhood but decided to become evil just because. Some fools just evil.
I would be interested in a book two, but I thought this was overall very lackluster.
