The Shadowhunter's Codex
by Joshua Lewis, Cassandra Clare
I didn't know if I should give this 4 or 5 stars. I actually want to give it 5 stars, but I wasn't 100% positive about this book (more like 98%). The notes made by Clary, Simin and Jace were fun, but sometimes difficult to read (I have a paperback version, not sure if it's better in a hardcover), and there were some parts that weren't as interesting as other parts.
Yet, I really liked reading this. Getting to know more about the history of Shadowhunters, the Downworld and demons and angels. Some parts had a lot of information, (sometimes so much it became slightly uninteresting) and some parts didn't have as much information as I liked. (Also, Henry Branwell and an ANONYMOUS WARLOCK? Everyone should know that it was Magnus! But I still liked to see the references to The Infernal Devices)
I would definitely recommend this book if you're a fan of the Shadowhunter Chronicles. There's a lot to learn about the ways of the Shadowhunters and Downworlders, and it kind of makes you understand more.
It's that I don't do .5 stars, or else it would be 4.5. I'm now giving it 4 stars, although my heart wants to give it 5. It was so fun to read!
