A deep dive into a girl's emotions after her mother's death, a mother who she hadn't talked to in years. This is very much a character driven novel, about learning to move on from abuse and learning to reconnect with family. It's such an emotionally charged story, told in such a short amount of time.
I will say, it was hard to get a read on the setting and I didn't realize Coi wasn't in high school for a good portion of the book. So, I think a little more detail and clarity in that aspect would have helped. But overall, the emotions were strong as were the characters.
