Pretty Little Wife
by Darby Kane
Actual rating is 3.5 ⭐️
This was a fun read. The FMC is super complex and strong in a unique way. This is a domestic thriller so it did follow the usual domestic thriller tropes of how every character is imbued in suspicion for various reasons. The police is like a dog with a bone and will focus on the spouse of the missing person the most no matter what the evidence suggests.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not listing any of these tropes as a bad thing. I enjoy all of them. The only downside to tropes is that there is no ‘shock value’ added to the narrative.
I kept waiting for the book to blow me away but there was no point when I felt
