bookbriefs 's review for:
The Wild Ones
by M. Leighton
I saw so, so many rave reviews for The Wild Ones before I signed up for the blog tour. I was really excited to read it, and then last week, right before I picked up the book to start, I got a little nervous. I don't read too many "hyped" books right away for my blog. I normally wait a little while. What if I didn't love it as much as everyone? My expectations were pretty high, so I was slightly worried that it wouldn't measure up. Boy was I wrong? I LOVED The Wild Ones. It is one of those books that deserves every bit of praise it got, and then some.
I am such a character driven reader, that if you give me awesome characters that I can relate to, or that make me feel something towards them- it almost gaurantees that I will enjoy a book. And The Wild Ones has such great characters. Trick is amazing and Cami is pretty cool herself. I loved that neither character could fit into their own stereotypical box. Trick was a little bit of a player, at least he was used to girls liking him, but he is also so sweet and caring and responsible. He is so hardworking! I admired him- in more than one way. ;) And Cami and kind and generous, but also fiesty. I loved the extra flare that she brought to the story.
The Wild Ones seriously has it all. It reminded me of an Abbi Glines New Adult book, and you guys know how much I love Abbi! It is the perfect example of the New Adult genre. There is a sizzling romance, a great plot and beyond awesome characters. The Wild Ones made me a very, very happy lady. If you like contemporary romances, or even if you just tolerate them- you NEED to read The Wild Ones. You won't be sorry.
