I read this book in 2008, way before I was writing book reviews - back then, I barely kept track of which books I read, let alone write reviews.

My mini review, written way after the fact: I love this book. I've read it a couple of times, own the movie, and am intrigued by the lifestyle of a geisha, and am sadden that that time is lost to us, forever - both the good and the bad.

The book is filled with love, heartbreak, challenges, pain, suffering, all the things that come with life, set in Japan before and after World War II.
