A surprisingly delightful YA romantasy.  One of my favorite tropes is "right person wrong time" and that may as well have been the logline for this book.  Over 1,000 years of yearning and star-crossed soulmates? What more could a girl ask for?

Not to mention there is a whole ass plot line around a bone marrow transplant.  Peripheral blood stem cells and actual bone marrow are discussed.  (I do think the allergy to general anesthesia was dumb af and only further clouds the donation process, but alas, the author got her Seven Pounds moment. 🙄)

This book was written for me!  Ultimately the third quarter dragged for me in a way that was not swoony or exciting.  There was too much "he wants to kill me and won't tell me why because he's an butthead" when really after 1000 years you'd think she'd trust and accept it.  If doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insanity... it's no wonder this girl wound up in an asylum that one time.... I SAID IT!

I understand why this is compared to The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue but I think it does those things SO MUCH BETTER!  Our characters (the temu version of immortal) are curious and compassionate and get to explore so much of the world, so many cultures, languages, subcultured experiences, and bond with all sorts of people.
