The Tattooist of Auschwitz
by Heather Morris
I liked that this book was easily accessible. Lale and Gita’s story was a harrowing one but told in a clear, ordered way.
For me, the writing style was actually too clear/simple. There was a distinct lack of emotional connection to the writing- it read like a set of instructions “he did this then he did that”
However, I do think that reading Holocaust stories will always be important and that having this story told is incredibly necessary perhaps now more than ever.
