Odd Thomas
by Dean Koontz
Odd Thomas is the second book by Dean Koontz that I've read and I absolutely loved it! Dean Koontz is an amazing writer and really keeps you turning the pages. My fiancé recommended this book to me and I finally bought it and read it.
Odd Thomas is a 20 year old fry cook with a sixth sense. He can see supernatural spirits called "bodachs" that only come around when death is near. A man referred to as "Fungus Man" walks in to the diner where Odd works to be followed by a few bodachs. Odd decides to follow him after work to figure out what he is up to. I do not want to go into too much details in order to prevent spoiling the book for future readers. However, all I'm going to say is that the town is eventually filled with bodachs because a terrible catastrophe is about to be unleashed!
The relationship between Odd and his girlfriend, Stormy Llewellyn, is just perfect. They kept saying they were "destined to be together forever" because of a card from a psychic reading machine. I fell in love with how perfect they were for each other and their super cute relationship!
The last chapter made me shed a couple tears. I was not expecting a sad ending like that and I wish it didn't happen!!
If you love thrillers/mysteries, I definitely recommend this book!
I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
