Hello I Want to Die Please Fix Me: Depression in the First Person
by Anna Mehler Paperny
informative
slow-paced
I wish the author took herself more seriously here, especially considering the subtitle emphasizing delving into depression and its treatment in the first person…. It became difficult to read and I dreaded picking it up again, more or less skimming the second half which was just regurgitating information amongst some personal anecdotes (told in third person) from other people. I did not connect with writing style. I was looking for frankness not humor on a subject that would have otherwise resonated deeply with me.
