Grady Hendrix does it once again, folks! We've definitely got some Steel Magnolias meets Dracula in this 90s throwback to simpler times when a vampire could fly under the radar in the suburbs. Patricia is our protagonist and she is a married mother of two and trying to manage her family responsibilities with her book club while also suspecting that their newbie stranger in town, James Harries, is a vampire. Weird things start happening and children are going missing or ending up mysteriously dead and Patricia has to balance her sanity and morals to figure out what is afoot.

Hendrix creates an amazing group of women in this book club and equally but opposite group of villains/a-hole characters as well. You will find yourself cheering for Patricia from your cozy reading spot and wanting nothing but the worst for anyone who is trying to slow her down or stop her.

And I also love how the sections of the book are titles of famous books (true crime, horror, etc) that the club happens to be reading while ALSO totally relating to the plot at the time in those pages. GENIUS!

This is a solid and easy 5 star read... and it is probably going to land in my top 5 reads of 2020. Being able to make that claim while it is only March is bold, but it is absolutely believable. Thanks to Quirk Books and the author for allowing the Night Worms to partner in this book party! You all NEED this book!
