Hour of the Bees
by Lindsay Eagar
"Once upon a time, there was a tree."
(I almost cried like 8 times throughout this book)
This is the first book I've read in a while that only focused on family. I'm not really part of a family that has a significant heritage full of stories, but reading about Carol's grandfather's stories made me wish I had those deep roots to come back to. I've never been so happy to read a book with no big romance (if you know me, you're aware of my extreme shipping ability) and while this ending broke my heart, I'm so happy I read this book.
4.75/5 stars
