My dad got me an omnibus of three of these (which is actually a good dad gift from him, he's learning) but I'm weird about logging things on here so I'm doing them individually. 

Struggling with rating this one. I'm always down for more Alien lore and this is canon. It's definitely written like a serial novelist writes, which isn't a dig necessarily, just a breezy read if that makes sense. 

What bothers me is the characterization of Ripley. I might be entirely biased because, well, I fucking love Ripley (who doesn't?) but at times it felt a little like wish fulfillment. A little self inserty with the mc if you feel me. She's not going to pick you, she's 37 years late to waking up from hyper sleep, she'll never see her daughter again, and she just experienced horrors beyond comprehension. Idk I think I expected her to be angrier? The loss and fear was there, but I expected more rage about her situation, especially having to coordinate this group of people who have no idea how much danger they're really in. 

At least he didn't make them smooch I guess, or well he did, the mc just smooches her while she's asleep after an intense med pod heal :) which is :) me not like that. But he was self aware enough to know she's not smoochin a god damn thing awake after everything she's dealt with.

If I like the next two better, the stars may change we'll see!
