Shadow Land by Adam J. Wright
3.0

This is the fifth installment of the Harbinger P.I. series. It's been a week since Alec since the last book's events, and Alec is ready to get back to work and stop moping around. He goes to the office and immediately receives a phone call from a desperate mother asking him to help find her missing son. She believes a giant monster had taken him the night before. Alec's investigation leads him to a psychiatric hospital where strange things are happening.

Random Ramblings

Alec is so bright and dumb simultaneously, but it's starting to bother me.
1. He is now in the possession of Excalibur, and this fucking idiot keeps it in his basement. I know his house is warded, but 1. people have passed the wards before, and 2. What happens to the people he invites in?
2. When the sword entrances someone, he tells the witches that it's just chilling in his basement. I know the witches have helped him in the past, but maybe you should keep it to yourself that you have history's most famous sword.
3. Let's go to a psychiatric hospital where weird shit is happening and only bring a magical sword and dagger. He should have been more prepared.

Alec finds and comes face to face with Mr. Scary (my eyes roll every time his name is said), and for the first time, things don't work out right away.

I enjoyed the storyline of the psychiatric hospital and the creatures involved. They weren't the same old monsters/creatures.

I am interested to see what happens with the introduction of
Merlin, who is possessing the sheriff
