Throne of Glass
by Sarah J. Maas
Let's put it this way: I read this book because I committed to reading it. Otherwise I would have stopped nearly immediately. The moment the author compared the main character's smaller breasts due to starvation to her pre-pubescent breasts, I was done.
For an assassin, Celaena did not come across brave or even spirited. She was immature and annoying. In fact, I didn't much care about any of the characters through most of the book. The perceived love triangle had no depth to it, neither did her friendship with Nehemia.
Worse so, the narrator for the audiobook completely struck a nerve with me, making it even less enjoyable. Sad, because it's an ongoing series I thought I could get into.
